Named for St. Thérése of Lisieux, St. Theresa Catholic Elementary School opened its doors in the south St. Catharines community of Merriton in 1972. The name is taken from the anglicized version of Thérèse. The school’s sports moniker, the Timberwolves (future Denis Morris Reds) was chosen because timberwolves are known protectors, just as St. St. Thérèse is known to have cared for the sick, injured, or frail during her short life.
St. Theresa Catholic Elementary School is a safe, inclusive place, where all are welcome and loved as children of God. Led by professional Catholic educators, more than 200 students in kindergarten through Grade 8 learn and grow together in faith at St. Theresa Catholic Elementary School. Before and after-school childcare is available through the Way to Grow Daycare program.
St. Theresa Catholic Elementary School is part of the Denis Morris Catholic High School family of schools and the St. Patrick parish community.
